UPDATE 6/30/20: After hitting 1500 masks out the door through this donation process, I took a two week break (for the most part) to move out of my office, work on figuring out a reliable income source during the pandemic and locating the perfect office when it is safe to resume with massage. I will be ramping up the sewing again, with some new things coming! I hope everyone is staying healthy!
UPDATE 5/1/20: Officially hit 500 masks made, 350 of which have been donated! Still happily sewing away! Orders less than 6 are on a 48 hour or less turn around at the moment...will let you know when I receive your order if that has changed due to demand.
Like many people, I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself once I was no longer allowed to continue offering massage, in an effort to lessen the effects of COVID-19 on our community. The first week, I snuggled my child, binged on Netflix while eating anything that sounded delicious. The next was spent checking on neighbors and others that I know live alone, picking up trash throughout the neighborhood and figuring out how to regularly make sure my grandma knows that she is loved, even when no one is allowed to visit her. Last week, I pulled out my sewing machine that had never been touched before and decided to teach myself how to sew masks. In the first week or sewing, I made 150 masks and donated 100 of those to people that are on the front lines and unable to get their hands on a decent mask or to others that are financially paralyzed and don't have the resources to make a mask themselves. I would love to continue donating as much as possible and I need to balance that with bringing in some donations, since I am also unable to rely my normal source of income.
So...here's the deal:
***Please do not request bundles for donation directly with me. Requests can be made to a much larger group of sewers either through the Colorado Mask Project or the Denver Mask Task Force, allowing these types of orders to get filled much more quickly through the collective effort and with excellent organization. I am working to assist both of these groups, as well as, getting masks in the hands of our front line heroes that are stocking our grocery shelves, delivering our goods, taking care of our trash and recycling, and anyone else that reaches out needing a mask.
Finally, the masks...
Every mask has a cotton jersey inner lining for comfort, middle layer of non woven polypropylene for increased filtration, and an outer cotton or poly/cotton blend. They can be cleaned and sterilized in a variety of ways, depending on your use.
To order your mask, simply send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
1. Name and contact info

3. Size-most options available in either Child or Adult sizes
4. Delivery, pickup, or shipping
5. How you'd like to donate-Cash, Check, Venmo (@TanyaGiven), fabric, or make me an offer
